Biostem US Corporation
Hair Restoration is “BIG” business in the US and around the world. In fact, Hair Restoration is the Number One Cosmetic Procedure undertaken by men in the United States bar none. Despite slow economic growth worldwide, the demand for procedures to correct hair loss proved to be stronger than ever, according to statistics released recently from a member survey conducted by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery(ISHRS). From 2008 to 2010, the total extrapolated market size for hair restoration surgery increased 47.9 percent. Specifically, the extrapolated worldwide number of surgical hair restoration procedures performed in 2010 was approximately 279,381, up 11 percent from 2008. Since the ISHRS starting compiling membership data in 2004, the number of procedures performed around the world jumped 66 percent — with the Middle East (454 percent increase) and Asia (345 percent increase) experiencing the largest growth. The Hair Restoration market in the US for 2010 alone was close to $1.9B and that is a small fraction of the size of the worldwide market in just that one year alone.
Biostem US Corporation (HAIR) is not your daddy’s hair transplant or replacement solution. Traditional solutions have included topical treatments such as the well known Rogaine type of products, or surgical implants to restore hair. Biostem’s revolutionalry new hair replacement solution called the “Biostem Method” is a 21st Century hair restoration solution which utilizes a patient’s own adult stem cells to facilitate the growth and replacement of hair in adults.
You can think of the Biostem Method as being a similar type of process to what happens when leukemia patients get a bone marrow transplant where stem cells in the bone marrow produce the body’s blood cells. Similarly in the “Biostem Method”, adult stem cells from the patient are used to foster new hair growth for the patient. This revolutionary Biostem Method involves the use of platelet rich plasma injections, low level laser therapy, nutraceutical supplements to stimulate stem cell growth, and private labeled hair products and it has been hugely successful.
The great thing about this is that because the patient’s own stem cells are used, the Biostem Method does not require FDA approval, allowing it to be widely marketed and available today within the hair restoration market. In fact, just last week the company announced an affiliation with a chain of hair restoration clinics in Florida.
Another big, big factor why we like HAIR is the fact that the founders, backers and board members of Biostem are top level executives at the global shoe company Crocs. As you can see from the company bios shown below, Scott Crutchfield, who is currently the Chairman of Biostem since June 2011, also serves as the Senior Vice President of World Wide Operations for Crocs, and Stephen Beck, another Biostem Director since June 2011, is an original member of Crocs and was instrumental in Crocs swift rise to retail success globally.
Back in May, Biostem announced a $5M private placement above the share price at that time. The money is earmarked for marketing the Biostem Method to Hair Clinics around the world and the company recently announced the appointment of Acropolis Inc. www.acropolisinc.com, a full-service advertising agency located in Orlando, Florida, to lend their expertise in brand building, marketing, and advertising development and placement for the company.
Additionally, it would not take a rocket scientist to figure out that a couple of the biggest names in the hair restoration industry might be interested in the adoption of the “Biostem Method” within their hair restoration businesses. Time will tell on that but don’t be surprised if some of the giants in the hair restoration market begin discussions with Biostem about potential affiliation.
HAIR has recently announced a important affiliation agreement with Dr. Marina Pizarro and her Florida wide Pizarro Hair Restoration Clinic Network www.DrPizarro.com. Dr. Pizarro is also serving as the Medical Director for the company. Dr. Marina Pizarro holds the distinction of being the first female hair transplant physician in the industry and belongs to the elite group of surgeons who have performed over 30,000 hair transplant procedures in their careers. We believe that Bosley and/or the Hair Club might not be far behind!
Biostem US Corporation has not had much market and investor visibility to date. We think that is about to change with a significant marketing budget moving into place and more investor awareness programs planned in the coming weeks with the goal of getting the word out about Biostem.
We like Biostem a lot. They are bringing revolutionary new technology to a Mega-Multi-Billion Dollar worldwide market. Do your homework fast and try and pick up a few shares. This is not going to be a well-kept secret and hidden-gem for long. Vanity is a powerful motivator, and with today’s 50 year olds trying to look 30, it looks like Biostem is poised to be next 5,000 pound gorilla in the hair restoration market.

Stem Cell Hair Therapy
Biostem has developed a hair restoration process known as The Biostem MethodTM. This process offered through Biostem affiliates and licensees, involves the use of platelet rich plasma injections, low level laser therapy, nutraceutical supplements to stimulate stem cell growth, and private labeled hair products. Stem Cell Therapy with platelet rich plasma (PRP) uses the body’s own cells to target your hair restoration needs. The equipment used for soft tissue injection is cleared by the FDA and Biostem’s affiliates/licensees are actively involved in applying PRP technology to hair restoration.
STEP 1: About five days prior to your procedure, you begin taking Biostem Support, a Biostem supplement formulated in association with leading researchers from a major southern Florida university. This completely natural nutraceutical enhances your body’s ability to produce and release adult stem cells which results in the presence of more cells in your blood on the day of your procedure.
STEP 2: : In-office procedure, where your own blood is drawn and your stem cells are harvested in our on-site, state-of-the-art, laboratory facility. Special laboratory technology is used to separate the platelet rich plasma containing your stem cells and growth factors from your blood, then is injected back into your scalp targeting the areas where your current hair growth is diminishing.
STEP 3: You leave the Biostem affiliate’s clinic looking no different in appearance than when you came in. The entire procedure takes about an hour and is virtually painless. You can resume normal daily activity immediately upon leaving the clinic.
- Virtually painless procedure.
- Non-obvious to others; no embarrassing dressings or bandages.
- Takes approximately an hour to complete initial treatment.
- Safe, with no side effects.
Scientists have learned there are cells within the body called adult stem cells. Adult stem cells have the potential to develop into most any tissue in the body and have the capacity to migrate towards damaged and/or diminished areas. According to the National Institutes of Health, the primary role of adult stem cells is to maintain and repair tissue.
As we age, our adult stem cells decrease in production and begin to lose their ability to maintain vibrant health. Due to degradation of these cells, we become more susceptible to degenerative disorders, health-related issues, and even hair and skin deficiencies.
