Is this man a genius or an idiot? Lots of people are arguing over the Internet that this is bogus and will not work. I’m not so sure. Pumping air into an object at the bottom of a water chamber so that it floats back to the surface is freaky brilliant! But will it work on a large scale?
Kirstie Alley does not like Abercrombie & Fitch decision to not carry clothing in larger sizes. She told Entertainment Tonight she would “never buy anything from Abercrombie.” That’s ok Kirstie because Abercrombie & Fitch does not have anything that would fit you anyways.
“It’s body discrimination, and it’s bullying and it encourages bullying,” Cali Lindstrom, a former Abercrombie & Fitch customer. So what do you call all those “big women” and “big men” only stores that only sell plus sizes?
When the U.S. dollar goes up, oil goes down because oil is priced in U.S. dollars. When the value of U.S. dollars go up, it takes fewer dollars to buy the same amount of oil hence oil goes down. The same is true for gold because gold is primarily priced in U.S. dollars.
Greg thinks people who think “cash is king”, are dumb. That shouldn’t shock anyone who regularly listens to this gold bug. China, last month, bought 223 metric tons of gold. India continues to buy gold and so does Russia.
The Navy is advancing drone technology at full speed. For the first time, the combat system has been launched from an aircraft carrier.
Defensetech.org reports: “The drone was catapulted 11:18 a.m. local time from the deck of the USS George H.W. Bush in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Virginia Beach, Va.”
In this video you’ll see the X-47b land.
The Treasury Department’s inspector general for tax administration will release an audit report later this week. This could cause some people at the IRS to lose their job. My thoughts are that if it did take place, it was rogue employees within the IRS and not a general policy decision.
LOL… It’s a giant baseball-mitt in outer-space! No, that’s just this conceptual design video for how NASA could literally catch an asteroid.
Tanguy Le Saout says that at the short end of the yield curve there is no problem but what the ECB needs to achieve is lower interest rates for countries. France will have more fiscal austerity in 2013, but Italy will probably have less.
The European Central Bank was created in 1998 to represent the interests of countries belonging to the eurozone. Its current Chairman is the Italian Mario Draghi.
Its headquarters is in Frankfurt, Germany. The ECB sets policy for the 17 member countries and their central banks. The monetary policy of each member country is managed by the ECB.
The 3D printing industry continues to amaze. US scientists have created an artificial ear using 3-D printing technology and living cells. The living cells are from the body of the person who is going to get the ear so the ear is not rejected.
Philip Falcone’s hedge fund career may be over. He was accused of borrowing money from the fund to pay his taxes among other things. Philip agreed to be barred from working as an investment advisor. He also agreed to pay $18 million in an SEC settlement.
He is known as “the raider”, others call Carl Icahn an “activist shareholder”. He is the man that shareholders love, and business leaders hate. In this video, you will learn more about the infamous Carl Icahn.
Throw your cigarette butt on the street and save a bird?! City birds have developed an addiction to cigarette butts. No their not smoking them but lining their nests with them and researchers have discovered that nests lined with butts attract fewer parasites.
Are flexible screens the next big thing in smartphones? In this presentation from Microsoft, you will see a proto-type of a Samsung flexible screen. Microsoft also shows how its using projector like technology to make gaming even more entertaining. Watching this though, I have to wonder how good it is for the eyes.
Rawdog is a funny guy. He often uses satire and sarcasm to make his points.
Canadian company HyperStealth Biotechnology is working on camouflage fabric that will make soldiers completely invisible. Quantum Stealth material was designed by Guy Cramer. It bends light waves around the subject and removes visual, infrared (night vision), and thermal signatures.
“Cloak of Invisibility” works without cameras, batteries, or mirrors. Functional prototype was shown to both U.S. and Canadian military.
Wall St. (principally JP Morgan) dump hundreds of tons of paper gold ‘naked-shorts’ on to the market to crash the price. But what often goes un-reported is that JP Morgan and many firms are doing this on the behalf of gold producers and sellers.
That’s right, gold companies short gold after they make huge sales in order to hedge themselves against a downturn. It sounds backwards but follow the logic. If you sell a bunch of gold say to Russia, you then take some of those profits and your short gold which means you get paid even more money (when you short something you get paid now for what you don’t have). Should the price of gold go lower, you make money. Should the price of gold go higher, you sell your physical inventory and make money. When the price of gold goes higher, you lose money on your short gold hedge, but you make it on the increase in what you can sell physical gold for. This hedge is what gives gold the ability to “preserve” value and is why the same of gold today buys the same amount of oil as it did back in the 1950s.
This hedging allows gold companies to preserve their wealth no matter which way gold prices go. JP Morgan is merely the tool by which gold producers use to hedge their gold inventories. Creating some conspiracy that JP Morgan is secretly working for the government to push down the price of gold is dumb.
Buy gold to preserve your wealth. Not because of some dumb conspiracy theory that you’re gonna stick it to the government.
The International Monetary system has collapsed 3 times in the past 100 years: 1914, 1939, and 1971.
The U.S. dollar is the major world reserve currency. Over 60% of all currency reserves are in the U.S. dollar.
Over the last year we’ve seen a huge amount of gold buying which underscores less faith in the U.S. dollar. We’ve got China buying gold at all time highs. We have Germany demanding their gold be returned. We have Russia buying massive amounts of gold.
Jim Rickards, senior managing director at Tangent Capital and author of Currency Wars: The Making of the Next Global Crisis, joins Phillip Yin on CCTV America.
Folks, I don’t know much about silver and gold coins and I don’t know if Rawdog’s criticism of Chris Duane is justified or not. It sounds to me like Rawdog knows what he’s talking about but I want to focus on a bigger issue here.
You got to be careful with buying gold and silver coins from just anybody over the Internet. There are a huge amount of scams that have taken place over the last few years in the gold and silver coin communities.
I’m no coin expert but from what I’ve seen you don’t want to buy coins with numismatic value because you end up paying a higher, above spot price, cost. If you want the most bang for your buck then stay away from numismatic coins. Second, there are legal requirements from the IRS for the type of gold and silver coinage allowed in a gold IRA. I would only buy gold and silver coins that are allowed in a gold IRA that way when you’re ready to sell, it will be easy to find buyers for your coins. Again, I’m no gold and silver coin expert and this is just my opinion only.

The dramatic recent events in Cyprus have highlighted the fundamental weakness in the European banking system and the extreme fragility of fractional reserve…
What is there to mull over? We did it here in the U.S. Sell off those forests to the highest bidder in the private sector. Maybe you can borrow a Daisy Cutter bomb or two from the U.S. and just blow the trees right out of their root beds and then just truck it all away.
Don’t worry about. You can always plant more.
