Triangle patterns are commonly found in stock charts. The pattern derives its name from the fact that it is characterized by a contraction in price range and converging trendlines, thus giving it a triangular shape. There are three types of triangle patterns: the ascending triangle, the descending triangle, and the symmetrical triangle. The ascending triangle and symmetrical triangle patterns are bullish, while the descending triangle is bearish.
