Watch List

A watch list is a group of stocks, usually 100 or more, that a trader is watching in order to time an entry on. Watch listing is a more in-depth strategy than just adding a list of stocks to a piece of paper. A disciplined trader will always buy a stock from his watch list as opposed to a spontaneous buy in real-time. Watch listing is a critical component in successful swing trading and position trading strategies. It is less important in long term, buy and hold for years, investing.
