I’m hearing rumors circulating that the U.S. will sell $2.2 billion in weapons to Taiwan. This move is sure to anger the Chinese who won’t even allow smartphone devices in China to display the word Taiwan.

China has said that any sale of weapons to Taiwan will harm bilateral relations between the U.S. and China.

The sale of the weapons includes 108 General Dynamics M1A2T Abrams tanks and 250 Stinger missiles.

The weapons sale to Taiwan could also include mounted machine guns, ammunition, Hercules armored vehicles for recovering inoperative tanks, heavy equipment transporters and related support.

The rumors are likely coming from this Reuters news story.

We see reduced volatility while prices have been consolidating in the most recent period. A pullback is taking place, which may present a nice opportunity for an entry. There is a resistance zone just above the current price starting at 182.29. Right above this resistance zone may be a good entry point.
