Lithium Americas upgraded to Overweight from Neutral at Piper Sandler
On January 11, 2022, Piper Sandler analyst Greg Tuttle upgraded Lithium Americas to Overweight from Neutral with a price target of $41, up from $32. The company “holds the keys to a multitude of game-changing catalysts to help unlock value” as operations begin and the potential for permits at Thacker Pass come to fruition, Tuttle tells investors in a research note. The analyst thinks management’s willingness to deploy capital for road work development on the heels of provisionary permits for Thacker Pass in Nevada is a positive signal.
Lithium Americas reports Millennial Lithium shareholder approval of transaction
On January 5, 2022, Lithium Americas Corp. announced that approximately 98% of Millennial Lithium Corp. shareholders and warrantholders voted in favor to approve the acquisition by Lithium Americas of all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Millennial by way of a statutory plan of arrangement, as previously announced on November 17, 2021. Approval from Millennial shareholders and warrantholders is a pivotal step in the Transaction, and the parties are now in a position to proceed with the final court order and then closing of the Transaction, with closing expected to occur on or about January 25, 2022.
