For two decades, a hostile foreign power was allowed to take millions of American jobs and large tech oligopolies and others, were allowed to offshore and outsource those jobs. How could something like that happen? Why was criticism of offshoring and outsourcing silenced until the entire manufacturing sector in the U.S. was destroyed? This is a question historians will have to ultimately answer but it appears that the facilitation of this giant outsourcing and offshoring scam was the corporate controlled mainstream media.
NBC owns Comcast. Do you think NBC acts as a lobbyist on behalf of Comcast’s interests? Why wouldn’t it? If Comcast’s business model is to outsource 24/7 customer service to India, do you really think NBC or CNBC is going to run news reports critical of outsourcing? Corporate ownership of the media is the concentration of power which helped facilitate the outsourcing/offshoring scam that has decimated the jobs market in the U.S. How else do you explain the silencing of outsourcing critics and the gradual destruction of the manufacturing sector in the U.S. over the last 20 years?
The Amazon Washington Post
This morning President Trump came out with a few Tweets in regards to Amazon and the Washington Post. Trump said, “AMZN: The Amazon Washington Post has gone crazy against me ever since they lost the Internet Tax Case in the U.S. Supreme Court two months ago. Next up is the U.S. Post Office which they use, at a fraction of real cost, as their “delivery boy” for a BIG percentage of their packages…. ….In my opinion the Washington Post is nothing more than an expensive (the paper loses a fortune) lobbyist for Amazon. Is it used as protection against antitrust claims which many feel should be brought?”
First up, taxing Amazon on its sales. Next up, raising the cost of shipping for Amazon. What’s next? Maybe requiring Amazon truck drivers to have an FAA license for the operation of drones? I mean who knows. One thing we do know, Jeff Bezos is going to continue to attack the President via the Washington Post, and the President is going to continue to attack Amazon and the Washington Post.
